What is a Therapeutic Massage?

Therapeutic Massage is a combination of Relaxation Massage and Remedial Massage to not only relax your whole body but at the same time, work through some of the muscle issues or “tight spots” you may be experiencing.

Therapeutic massage is a general term that describes any type of massage modality that helps relieve pain, reduce stress, and work on a specific problem—such as a frozen shoulder. People tend to assume therapeutic massage means deep tissue massage, and that they will get a very strong massage. But this is not always the case. Deep tissue massage is great at breaking down scar tissue and getting your blood circulating, but it may not be what you need on a particular day. A good therapist will apply the specific techniques and the right amount of pressure to address your need, and sometimes that’s a lighter touch.

Therapeutic massage benefits the following conditions:

  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • General Wellbeing
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Arthritis
  • Low Immunity
  • Minor injuries

What is Deep Tissue Massage?

Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that’s mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduces tension in muscle and tissue.

It may also promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.
Deep tissue massage offers both physical and psychological benefits. Unlike other massage techniques that focus on relaxation, deep tissue massage helps to treat muscle pain and improve stiffness. But it can still help you unwind mentally, too.

What is Ayurvedic Massage?

AYURVEDA means ‘ the art of living wisely ‘. The word Ayurveda is composed of two Sanskrit words – ‘ AYU’ meaning Age or Life  , ‘VEDA’ meaning Knowledge or science. It is explained as ‘Science of Age’ or ‘Science of Life’ or ‘Knowledge of Health’.

Ayurveda literature explains the purpose of ayurveda beautifully and effectively in a very simple phrase

  ‘स्वस्थस्य स्वास्थ्यरक्षणं अतुरस्य विकार प्रशमनाम्चा’

Which means – To protect the health of the healthy and alleviate disorders of diseased.

According to Ayurveda , Health is a perfect state of balance between the body’s three fundamental energies or Doshas ( VATA , PITTA , KAPHA ) and equal vital balance among body , mind and soul.

Ayurveda teaches that we have a constitution , our own mix of Doshas , which is our individual psychobiological makeup . Ayurveda called it ‘PRAKRUTI’ , a constant factor that does not change.

VATA – Represent momentum. It relates to the nervous system and controls breathing , blinking and circulation. Vata dominant people are energetic . They also have insufficient or moderate weight , dry skin and fine hair.  VATA needs NOURISHMENT.

PITTA – is a bodily energy that reportedly comprises mostly fire and some water and links to  immunity , metabolism and temperature. Pitta dominant generally have sensitive skin that is prone to acne , redness and tendency towards pigmentation. PITTA needs to be COOLED and BALANCED.

KAPHA – it provides stability to the body , moisturizes skin and enhances resistance to disease and promotes healing. Kapha dominant people have more strength and stamina , enjoy sound sleep and tend to be lazy. Kapha skin can be normal to oily and large pores and white heads. KAPHA needs STIMULATION.

What is Aromatherapy Massage?

Aromatherapy massage is Swedish massage therapy using massage oil or lotion that contains essential oils (highly concentrated plant oils).

During an aromatherapy massage, you inhale these essential oil molecules or absorb them through your skin. They are thought to promote beneficial changes in your mind and body by affecting the limbic system, a region of the brain known to be involved in emotion.

Contrary to what its name suggests there are no fatty elements in a pure and natural essential oil. This means they diffuse or evaporate very quickly. Essential oil maybe calming, stimulating, anti-depressant, balancing, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, detoxifying, analgesic, notifying, grounding or uplifting.

Aromatherapy Massage is a very powerful experience.
